TRANSCRIPT:

Hi there, and welcome back to another episode!

I’m so thrilled to have you here as we embark on a powerful conversation to set the tone for your year ahead. As we step into a fresh start, let’s pause, take a deep breath, and think about how we want this year to unfold—not with resolutions that often fade but with meaningful dreams that inspire us every single day.

Instead of focusing on New Year’s resolutions, which can sometimes feel restrictive or fleeting, I want to guide you toward identifying your top three dreams for the year—three things that truly light you up and align with the life you want to create.

Together, we’ll explore how to choose these dreams and, more importantly, how to bring them to life.

Why dreams are not resolutions
Resolutions can feel like a to-do list, often driven by what we think we should do rather than what we truly want. They can feel rigid and even punitive. Dreams, on the other hand, are expansive.

They connect to our deepest desires and values, making them energizing instead of burdensome.

How to do this
Step Number One is to reflect and dream big.

Before deciding what to focus on this year, let’s start by reflecting on what truly matters to you:

  1. Look back before looking ahead.

Reflect on the highlights of the past year. What moments filled your heart with joy and pride? What did you achieve? What did you learn? Write down 5–10 things that you’re grateful for or proud of from last year.

  2. Tap into your heart.

Ask yourself: If I could achieve just one thing this year, what would light me up the most? What do I want to feel more of in my life—freedom, joy, connection, growth?

  3. Visualize your best year.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself a year from now. You’ve lived your best year ever. What does it look like? How do you feel? Write it all down.

Now that you’ve reflected, let’s move to Step Two: choosing your top three dreams.

Step Two: Choose Your Top Three Dreams
These dreams should feel both exciting and achievable.

  1. Life domains.

Think about the various areas of your life: career, health, relationships, hobbies, personal growth, and more.

  2. Filter with meaning.

Ask: Do these dreams align with my values? Will they bring me joy and move me closer to the life I love?

  3. Visualize success.

Imagine celebrating these dreams at the end of the year. Do they make you smile? If yes, they’re worth pursuing.

Step Three: Break It Down into Actionable Steps
A dream without a plan is just a wish. Let’s turn your dreams into reality:

  1. Start small.

Break each dream into manageable steps. For example, if your dream is to write a book, your first step might be dedicating 20 minutes a day to brainstorming ideas.

  2. Create habits.

Commit to small daily actions. Habits are the building blocks of success. Also, identify habits that don’t support your dreams and let them go.

  3. Check in regularly.

Schedule weekly, monthly, or quarterly check-ins to reflect on your progress and adjust your plans as needed.

Need Inspiration?
Here are some ideas to spark your imagination:

  • A healthier you: Run a 5K, cook healthy meals, or prioritize sleep.

  • Adventures: Plan a trip, learn a new skill, or start a hobby.

  • Inner growth: Begin a gratitude practice or meditate daily.

  • Creative pursuits: Start a passion project or take a new course.

The key is to choose three dreams that inspire you deeply. Write them down and keep them where you’ll see them daily. Small, consistent steps lead to extraordinary results.
