Welcome back to Your Dream Life podcast!

Today, we’re diving into a topic that brings both joy and stress—planning for Christmas. It’s a magical time of year, but without some planning, it can turn into a whirlwind of last-minute shopping, endless to-do lists, and constant running around.

I believe Christmas should be calm, stress-free, and most importantly—fun! The key to that is planning. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail. Over the years, I’ve developed a simple but effective approach to Christmas planning. It’s helped me tremendously, and I hope it helps you too, so you can savor every part of this season.

Let’s start with the Dream Life Christmas Planner.

First, grab your planner and set aside just an hour or two this week. Use this time to establish the foundation of your holiday season. It’s not about doing everything now; it’s about organizing the key pieces so you can truly enjoy the upcoming weeks.

  1. Key Dates Planning

Start by noting down all your key dates: Christmas gatherings, office parties, Thanksgiving dinners, and family traditions. Add them to your calendar, and if an event requires gifts or food, make a quick note. Remember to RSVP early to avoid last-minute surprises!

If you’re traveling, book flights and accommodations now. It’s also a good time to schedule holiday appointments—like a haircut, nails, or shopping for an outfit.

  1. Plan Special Moments

Christmas is also about those small, magical moments. Add a few special outings or activities to your calendar, like a Christmas market visit or a concert. Scheduling these experiences in advance makes them more likely to happen.

  1. Early Christmas Shopping

Christmas shopping can be stressful, so aim to finish by December 1st. Imagine starting December with gifts already wrapped! If you’re shopping online, order early to avoid delivery delays.

And for those who love sending Christmas cards, turn it into a cozy event. Play Christmas music, pour a holiday drink, and enjoy the experience.

  1. Make a Holiday Playlist

Music is essential to Christmas magic, so take 30 minutes to create a playlist of your favorite holiday tunes. Use it as the soundtrack for gift-wrapping, decorating, or baking.

  1. Christmas Menu and Baking

If you’re hosting Christmas, plan the menu and make a shopping list. Baking is also a wonderful tradition that creates homemade gifts and treats. For us, it’s Swedish gingerbread cookies! Add these traditions to your calendar so they don’t get overlooked.

  1. Gift-Wrapping Plan

Make a list of everyone you’re buying gifts for and set a budget. Buy wrapping supplies early and set aside time to wrap gifts calmly, ideally with Christmas music on, so it feels joyful.

  1. Relaxing End of the Season

Lastly, don’t forget the week between Christmas and New Year’s! This is my favorite time of the year—a time to relax, reflect, and dream. Keep it free of obligations and spend it unwinding, taking walks, and connecting with loved ones.

I’ll be holding free workshops during this period, so check the show notes for more details!

By planning now, you’re creating a Christmas season that’s intentional, joyful, and filled with memorable moments. Remember, Christmas is about the little moments, and planning ahead allows you to truly savor them.

Thank you for joining me on Your Dream Life podcast! I hope this helps you envision a holiday that feels calm, stress-free, and joyful.

Here’s to a magical Christmas season!
