24 Things That Made My 2024 Amazing: A Year in Reflection

As the year comes to a close, I want to share one of my favorite practices with you—reflecting on the highlights of the past year.

Taking the time to reflect on what made this year special has become a beautiful tradition for me. It’s a simple way to honor our growth, express gratitude, and embrace life’s magic.

In this blog based on my recent pod episode, I’ll walk you through the “24 Things That Made My 2024 Amazing.”

My hope is that this inspires you to pause and reflect on your own year, big moments and small, and recognize how extraordinary your journey has been.

Why Reflect on the Year?

This practice isn’t just about celebrating accomplishments—it’s about cultivating gratitude and deepening your connection with what truly matters. When you focus on the positive, you’ll find even more to be grateful for, and that energy can carry you into the year ahead.

Some of my highlights were life-changing milestones, while others were simple moments of presence and joy. All of them added up to a year that I’ll always cherish.

Let’s dive in!

1. Knowing My Top 10 Dreams

At the heart of my year were two lifetime dreams: moving to Sydney and visiting all seven continents. Moving to Sydney has been a dream of mine for years, and now it’s finally happening in 2025. This year, I also visited Antarctica, which meant I checked off both Antarctica and South America from my list.

These experiences reminded me how powerful it is to know your dreams so you can seize opportunities when they come your way.

2. Setting My Top 3 Dreams for the Year

Every year, I prioritize three dreams to focus on. This year, one of my top goals was creating family adventures, both big and small. From unforgettable trips to simple moments together, these experiences became the heartbeat of my year.

3. Building Habits That Support My Goals

This year, I focused on adding habits that align with my dreams and removing ones that don’t. These habits have been game-changers for my energy, productivity, and happiness.

4. Taking Daily Action on My Dreams

Dreaming is essential, but without action, dreams remain just that. Every day, I took small, consistent steps toward my goals, knowing that progress matters more than perfection.

5. Embracing Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the most transformative practices in my life. Every morning, before I even get out of bed, I take three deep breaths and think of three things I’m grateful for. It’s a simple ritual, but it sets the tone for my day.

6. Prioritizing My Health

Health is everything. It’s about more than diet and exercise—it’s also about what you consume mentally, the people you surround yourself with, and how you care for your emotional well-being. This year, I made health my top priority because when I’m healthy, I have the energy to pursue my dreams.

7. Waking Up Early

Mornings are magical. There’s something so peaceful about starting the day before the world wakes up. My morning rituals, like journaling and meditation, have been some of my most cherished moments this year.

8. Journaling Morning Pages

Almost every morning, I write three pages of thoughts in my journal. This practice clears my mind, helps me process challenges, and often sparks new ideas. It’s been a game-changer for my creativity and focus.

9. Walking in Nature

Walking has always been my favorite way to recharge. Whether I’m in a park, on the beach, or just wandering in the city, walking helps me think clearly and dream bigger.

10. Hosting Inspiring Events

This year, I hosted breakfast events, solitude retreats, and workshops. These gatherings with like-minded people became some of the most fulfilling and joyful parts of my year.

11. Reflecting Daily

I use my Daily Wins Journal every evening to write down three wins from the day, three things I’m grateful for, and three wins I’d like to create tomorrow. Reflecting daily helps me appreciate life’s little moments and keeps me grounded.

12. Reading 20 Pages a Day

Books are my constant source of inspiration and growth. This year, I read 12 books with my book club, plus many more on my own. Cutting back on screen time helped me make more space for reading.

13. Saying No

Saying no is hard, but it’s one of the most empowering things I’ve learned to do. This year, I got better at saying no to things that don’t align with my dreams or values, which gave me more space for what truly matters.

14. Having a Day With No Plans

Sundays are my sacred “no-plans” day. Whether I’m reading, walking, or spending time with family, having a free day each week has been essential for my mental well-being.

15. Doing Uncomfortable Things

Growth lives outside your comfort zone. This year, I did things that challenged me, like public speaking and trying new projects. Each one made me stronger and more confident.

16. Never Giving Up

Moving to Sydney was a long process, but I didn’t give up, even when it felt difficult. Keeping my dream alive and taking small steps every day made it happen.

17. Cherishing Time With My Kids

With two teenagers, I’m more aware than ever of how quickly time flies. This year, I made it a priority to create memories with them that we’ll treasure forever.

18. Hosting Solitude Retreats

This year, I started hosting retreats to share my love of solitude and reflection. They’ve become a deeply meaningful way to connect with others and help them create space for themselves.

19. Running Workshops

Hosting workshops for businesses and individuals has been one of the most fulfilling new projects this year. Sharing tools like journaling and dream planning has been a joy.

20. Quarterly Detoxes

I’ve been doing quarterly detoxes for years, and they’ve become an essential part of my routine. They’re not just about food—they’re about clearing my mind and reconnecting with myself.

21. Progress, Not Perfection

I’ve embraced the mantra “progress, not perfection” this year. It’s helped me let go of unrealistic expectations and focus on moving forward.

22. Experiencing Taylor Swift in London

The highlight of my year was seeing Taylor Swift in London with my daughter Tiffany. It wasn’t planned, but it turned into the most magical adventure—a memory we’ll treasure forever.

23. Hosting Breakfast Events

Spending time with like-minded people over inspiring conversations has been a joy. These events weren’t on my original plan, but they became some of the most meaningful moments of my year.

24. Realizing Life’s Simple Joys

Reflecting on my year reminded me that many of my happiest moments were simple ones: a quiet walk, a great cup of coffee, or time with loved ones. These moments don’t cost anything, but they’re priceless.
