As we approach the final stretch of 2024, I want to talk about something that could truly transform the way you end this year and set the tone for an even better 2025.

It’s the idea of dedicating the last 100 days of the year to one specific, powerful habit that will help you move closer to your dream life.

Now, you might be asking, "Why focus on just one habit?"

The answer is simple: when we scatter our energy across too many goals, it’s easy to lose focus and become overwhelmed.

But when we focus in on mastering just one habit, it creates a powerful catalyst for change.

Why the Last 100 Days Matter

The end of the year often feels like a race to the finish line—a time when we reflect on what we’ve achieved and where we might have fallen short. But instead of rushing to tick off last-minute goals, why not focus on one transformative habit that will not only give you a sense of accomplishment but will also set a positive tone for the year ahead?

John C. Maxwell wisely said,

“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”

This is our chance to put in the work—focused, deliberate, and meaningful work that moves us closer to our dream lives.

Choosing Your One Powerful Habit

So, how do you choose which habit to focus on? Think about what would have the most significant impact on your life right now. Maybe it’s a habit you’ve been meaning to start all year, or perhaps it’s one that aligns closely with the dream life you’re creating.

Here are some questions to help you decide:

  1. What’s one habit that will make the biggest difference in your life right now?
  2. Which habit aligns with your deepest values or passions?
  3. What’s one thing you can commit to daily that will move you closer to your dreams?

Your habit could be as simple as journaling for 10 minutes every morning, exercising daily, or dedicating time to take a daily action toward your number one dream or goal.

Whatever it is, make sure it’s something that excites you and aligns with the life you envision.

Tips for Making Your Habit Stick

Once you’ve chosen your habit, the next step is to make it stick. Here are my top five tips:

 

  1. Start Small: Begin with a manageable commitment. If you’re new to exercise, start with 10 minutes a day and gradually increase. The key is consistency, not intensity.
  1. Set Clear Intentions: Write down your habit and why it matters. Place this reminder somewhere you’ll see it daily—on your mirror, your journal, or even as a phone wallpaper.
  1. Track Your Progress: There’s something incredibly motivating about seeing your progress. Use a habit tracker app where you mark off each successful day; tracking will keep you accountable.
  1. Celebrate Wins: Celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. Did you complete your habit for seven days straight? That’s worth celebrating! Rewards will keep you motivated.
