🌿 Designing a Week That Feels Good: Creating Calm, Clarity & Control

by Kristina Karlsson

Have you ever ended the week feeling like it ran you — rather than the other way around?

In this week’s powerful Platinum Coaching session, we pressed pause and looked at something so many of us struggle with: how to take back control of our time, our energy, and ultimately, our lives.

The session was filled with simple yet powerful tools and mindset shifts that reminded us that we get to design the life we want — one week at a time.

And as I shared, when we start from intention rather than reaction, everything changes.

Whether you're juggling work, family, study, a business — or all of the above — this session is your gentle guide back to clarity and calm.

✨ Why We Need to Revisit How We Plan Our Week

We kicked things off by asking a beautiful and grounding question: “How am I feeling right now?” It’s a small practice with big impact — and it set the tone for a session that was both reflective and deeply practical.

As the second quarter of the year begins, many of us are feeling the pressure of unmet goals or drifting focus. But as we reminded ourselves, it’s never too late to recalibrate — and we don’t need to overhaul everything.

A few conscious shifts in how we approach our week can completely change how we feel by Friday.

🧭 Five Key Insights from the Session

1. Success Isn’t About Doing More – It’s About Doing What Matters

The group explored what a successful and energising week would actually feel like — not just what it would include. One member shared, “I’ve never thought about success as feeling energised — I love that reframe.”

We reminded ourselves that we often equate productivity with worth, but true success is when we align our time with our values.

2. Your ‘Ideal Week’ is a Game-Changer

We revisited our ‘Ideal Week’ — a flexible but powerful structure for how we want our days to flow.

For many, this exercise created a clear visual of what to prioritise and protect.

As Sarah shared in the chat, “I created mine last year but haven’t looked at it in ages — time for a refresh.” And refresh we did!

3. Energy Management > Time Management

We dove into the difference between managing time and managing energy. Emails, interruptions, and overcommitment often leave us exhausted.

By identifying what drains us (and what recharges us), we can shape a week that feels good, not just full.

One member, Olivia, noted: “Emails totally derail my focus” — so I shared tips like batching and setting boundaries to protect deep work time.

4. The Weekly Reset Ritual

A Sunday or Monday “reset” helps you start the week with intention, and I shared my go-to ritual:

  • Review last week (what worked/what didn’t)

  • Revisit values and goals

  • Schedule non-negotiables and white space

  • Choose one small upgrade for the week

Jess shared her shift: “No phone until after my morning routine. Game changer already.” It’s amazing how something so small can make such a big impact.

5. Progress Over Perfection

Life throws curveballs — but having a foundation of intentional structure helps us bounce back faster. So I encouraged all to drop the perfectionism and focus on progress — showing up, checking in with ourselves, and realigning where needed.

As Priya beautifully shared: “I’m setting a daily ‘joy moment’ — even just 5 mins for something fun or creative.” Because joy isn’t just a reward, it’s fuel.

🧡 Real Talk from Our Members

The chat was buzzing with insights and 'aha!' moments. Here are just a few gems:

  • “That hit home — I say yes way too often and end up resentful.” – Caroline

  • “Feeling so much clearer already. Thank you!” – Mel

  • “Exactly what I needed — I’ve been in survival mode lately. This helped me breathe again.” – Ruby
